Best Kiteboarding Snowkite Center
An important new development in the world of snowkiting has just launched, the Best Kiteboarding Snowkite Center at Powder Mountain, Utah. This lesson center at an established ski area offers a unique opportunity to learn to snowkite or brush up on skills at a location with high quality instructors. With ski and snowboard rentals from Powder Mountain Ski resort and harnesses and kites available from Best Kiteboarding, the Best Kiteboarding Snowkite Center is a hassle free way to enjoy snowkiting this season. All kiters are required to wear a helmet.
Currently the first and only lift-served snowkiting location in North America, the snowkite site at Powder Mountain sits at nearly 9,000 feet in altitude and receives an abundance of light, dry Utah powder. A ridge just above treeline, the snowkite site offers snowkiting for beginners to experts and can be ridden with winds from nearly all directions with the prevailing winds from the Southwest. Directly adjacent to the ski area, the snowkite site offers the unique opportunity for families to all enjoy different activities, but stay close to each other and even share lunch in one of the mountain lodges. While the kids take snowkiting lessons, Mom and Dad can practice their tele turns or have fun skiing.
Instruction ranges from a basic introduction to snowkiting through advanced technique clinics appropriate for every level of snowkiter. Instructors use a radio communication system helping ensure a quick and smooth learning curve and have snowmobiles available for safety and convenience. Lessons range from a $49 Preflight intro lesson to $459 Kite on Snow Clinic including two days of instruction.
For kiters who just want the ease of access to a great kiting location, a $20 snowkiter lift ticket is available and if the wind doesn’t blow, a snowkiter ticket is upgradeable to a full access ski ticket with a $20 discount. For Salt Lake locals and if you are going to be in the Powder Mountain area for a while, a season pass for snowkiters is available for $300. As the season matures, the snowkite site will feature some kickers and rails to dial in all the latest freestyle moves.
The Best Kiteboarding Snowkite Center at Powder Mountain is not only an innovative snowkiting location that features unprecedented convenience and world-class conditions, the Powder Mountain location will also help to introduce a whole new group to the sport of snowkiting.
