Skyline Season Opener

The Skyline Season Opener event at Skyline Drive in Utah started off on Saturday with an eager crew of core snowkiters from Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and as far away as New York. French snowkiting legend, Pascal “Big Air” Jaubert, recently moved to Wyoming and came down to check out the action. Thin snowpack on the first day didn’t hold anyone back much and then a giant storm hit that evening. Everyone made their way down to Mt. Pleasant for the Grand re-Opening of the Triangle Bar. The new owners, Brian and Heather Schenck, christened the bar with a short speech and breaking a bottle of champagne on the corner of the building (shown in photo).

On Sunday, some of the New York crew made their way over the pass during the storm to ride a previously unexplored lake on the east side of the pass, while the Ozone crew hit up a field in Mt. Pleasant to demo the new Zephyr and C4 kites.

On Monday, the skies slowly opened up and revealed the best snow you could ask for. Over a foot of snow had blanketed Skyline and the remaining crew had the time of their lives. And so goes another episode of “You Should Have Been There”.
